With more than 80 scientific publications, Prof. Wilbroad Mutale, a visionary and current CEO for SAICRI, has been a senior Lecturer at the University of Zambia’s (UNZA) Schools of Public Health and Medicine since 2006. He has over 18 years of work experience in Sub-Saharan Africa and elsewhere, working as a physician at the University Teaching Hospital-Zambia and a researcher at the University of Zambia (UNZA) School of Public Health and Centre for Infectious Disease Research (CIDRZ) in Zambia. Dr Nkomba Kayeyi
Dr Nkomba Kayeyi has more than 20 years’ experience managing and conducting Epidemiological and Public Health Research, Data Management, M&E, Surveillance and Disease Intelligence, and Implementation Science/Operations Research. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Demography from the University of Zambia, an MPhil in Health Promotion-International Health Track, and a PhD in Epidemiology and International Health from the University of Bergen, Norway. Dr Richard Banda
Dr Richard Banda holds a Doctor of Philosophy and Master of Philosophy in Public Health from the Centre for International Health, University of Bergen, in Norway. He also holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Demography from the University of Zambia. Dr Banda has over 20 years of experience in survey planning, design and execution, including sample design, questionnaire development, field training and supervision, data quality control and assurance, data analysis using STATA and SPSS and report writing. Anne-Thora holds a Master of Science degree in International Relations from the London School of Economics and Political Science and a Bachelor degree in Political Science from the University of Bergen, in addition to CPD certificates in management, leadership and strategic innovation. She has over 13 years of diverse experience, including technical advisor and programme analyst with UNDP, director of program development and quality (SCI) and education manager (VVOB), in addition to academic and research experience from education, health and governance. Her key strengths include developing evidence-based plans, programmes, strategies and policies, building and maintaining partnerships, qualitative and quantitative research, resource mobilisation, leading multi-disciplinary teams ensuring coordinated support to strengthen government systems to deliver impactful programming, leveraging government agenda, priorities and policies where possible and influencing policy change where needed. Throughout her career, her ability to nurture good relations with governments and diverse groups of stakeholders has enabled her to co-design interventions, proposals and programming that are matched with needs, resources, priorities, systems and context. In Zambia, she grew a child-centred, play-based primary education programme (Catch-Up/Teaching at the Right Level) from a pilot intervention in two provinces with less than $2 million funding to the current programme in 8 provinces with over $15 million funding, with the Ministry of Education fully committed to national scaling and with other countries in the region keen to learn from the Zambian experience. She managed the 40-member technical team and led the strategy, research, monitoring and evaluation efforts of the programme. In Malawi, she co-conceptualised and mobilised resources for the large, $60 million national ID programme bringing together a broad coalition of partners, and she led UNDP’s work on innovation, development effectiveness, coordination and accountability. She has managed development projects with various ministries, UN agencies, civil society organisations and NGOs, funded by a broad range of donors across sectors (including UNDP, UNICEF, EU, USAID, Irish Aid, Co-Impact, LEGO Foundation, Hempel Foundation, BMGF, DGD, Norad). Additionally, she has extensive fieldwork experience in Zambia, working with government and community schools across 8 provinces.
Dr. KAYULA A. M. SIAME
Dr. Kayula Siame is Private Sector Development, Entrepreneurship, Trade and Investment Expert with vast experience in the Higher Education Sector, Technical Vocational, Science and Technology sectors. She holds a record of being appointed as Permanent Secretary and Controlling Officer, National Coordinator and Programme Team Leader. She has a rich track record of achievements and receiving recognitions for her exceptional contributions. Some of her achievements include: Zambia being one of the top ten global reformers, Recognition as Zambia’s Chief Negotiator for the Africa Continental Free Trade Area Agreement and being a recipient of the first prize in the World Bank Smart lessons in Trade Facilitation. She has a very good understanding of the public sector and its role in creating a conducive environment and experience in developing, implementing and assessing, policies, regulations, strategies and programmes. She possess research, facilitation, advocacy and consultancy skills. An excellent team leader, a goal-getter and efficient at utilising material, financial and human resources to achieve set objectives. Her passion and commitment is to contribute economic growth through entrepreneurship development. She is experienced in corporate governance and has served on numerous public and private sector boards in the commerce, trade, education and science and technology sectors. She is currently the Chairperson the Lusaka Securities Exchange and Vice Chairperson of the University of Kabwe. She has a Doctorate in Business Administration from the University of Lusaka, a Master’s Degree in Business Administration specialising in Decision Science and Finance from Clark Atlanta University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics obtained from the University of Zambia. As a practitioner she has had the opportunity to collaborate and partner with various stakeholders namely the Private Sector, Cooperating Partners and Civil Society Organisations. She is currently a Private Sector Development and Investment Consultant.
NGOSA CHISUPA
Ngosa Chisupa is a Development Policy and Corporate Governance Professional. As an Accredited Governance Trainer with the Institute of Directors, he has been involved in training various boards in Corporate Governance, Governance of Strategy and providing institutional and policy reviews. He has previously served in various senior positions at Director, Permanent Secretary and Presidential Advisor level in the various government ministries namely Commerce and Industry, Labour and Social Security, Cabinet Office, Information and Broadcasting and State House. He has sat on several public and private sector boards and presently is a Consultant with Client Insight Consult and a Postgraduate lecturer in the School of Business at the University of Lusaka. He is a graduate of economics at undergraduate level and a possesses a Master’s degree in International Development and Policy Management from the University of Tsukuba, Japan
