Disability and Inclusive Education Advisor
About the Job
The Disability and Inclusive Education Advisor will lead in developing and implementing disability-inclusive strategies, ensuring the needs of children with disabilities (CwD) are met in emergency preparedness, disaster risk mitigation, and education.
Qualifications and Experience
- Advanced degree in one or more of the following disciplines: social sciences, development studies, international relations, sociology or other relevant field.
- At least 6 (six) years of professional experience in relevant areas and at least 4 (four) years progressively responsible professional experience in disability inclusion for development projects and/or disability inclusion in a humanitarian assistance context.
- Expertise in developing and implementing disability-inclusive strategies, ensuring the needs of children with disabilities (CwD) are met in emergency preparedness, disaster risk mitigation, and education.
- Expertise in adapting school environments and pedagogical methods to improve participation and educational outcomes for CwD.
- Experience with Universal Design for Learning (UDL) methodologies is critical.
